Back months ago, I showed you my various lists and spreadsheets I was using to keep organized during wedding planning. At the end of that post, I promised I?d show you photos of how our basement had turned into a jungle of wedding supplies.
Um, sorry, no. I just couldn?t bring myself to photograph the insanity that was our basement those last two months before the wedding.
But I will show you how I tamed the beast and got everything packed and organized for delivery to our venue.
Being Type-A and Letting Go
I can be a little type-A about certain things, especially when that ?thing? is a major life event I?ve spent over a year planning. The funny thing is, we chose to have our wedding at the Mansion at Valley Country Club because of the amazing job they do ensuring that every event is a success. But still, I struggled with the idea of handing off all the projects we?d spent months working on and letting someone else set up for our wedding.
So in true type-A fashion, I tried to take control. During the last two weeks before the wedding, I created packing labels with photos and instructions describing how we envisioned everything being set up. I made it clear that in no way did I expect everything to be 100% as described, because I understand that things sometimes have to be adjusted at the last minute, or that what I had in mind might not work in the actual space.
