I’ve been bursting to share this little surprise for a long, long time!
About three months before we were engaged, when talk of marriage and our future was the cornerstone of every conversation, Mr. Puffer and I found ourselves strangely attracted to TV shows about weddings. I was never one for wedding shows before, but just picturing our own nuptials made us eager to see how others had done it.
And it was in one of those shows?I believe in Four Weddings?that we discovered a great idea?and totally stole it. #NoShame
We invited Charlie Chaplin to our wedding.

Or, rather, a Charlie Chaplin impersonator by the name of Matthew Paul we hired through Entertainment Exchange to entertain our guests before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour. It was an idea we liked when we saw the TV show, and it became an idea we had to have once we booked the Mansion at Valley Country Club for the wedding. The venue?s appearance shaped much of the vintage-looking décor we ended up picking out?from the centerpieces to the ring bearers? outfits?so having Charlie Chaplin show up just seemed perfect.

It was a surprise planned solely for our guests. Puff and I only briefly saw him in passing, but the guests had a ball interacting with him. As a bonus, he arrived onsite early and ended up keeping the kids in our wedding party entertained before the first guests ...
