Puffed Up with Love: We Happily Throw Out Our Plans

While Charlie Chaplin was entertaining guests during the cocktail hour, Mr. Puffer and I hid ourselves away in the bridal suite with our wedding party.

The staff at the Mansion at Valley Country Club brought us drinks and yummy appetizers, and the group enjoyed sharing food and conversation. (Well, our wedding party ate. I didn?t eat anything, and Puff had maybe two appetizers. But everyone said the food was fantastic.)
We gave the wedding party the choice of staying upstairs with us or going down for the cocktail hour. It was half and half: some stayed, some headed down. Puff and I had planned all along to remain upstairs and be formally introduced at the reception.
But after my dress was bustled and some of the giddiness of being newlyweds died down (just the tiniest bit), Puff and I looked at each other and at the same time asked one another, ?Want to go down"? And with that, our plans of staying hidden until the reception were thrown out the window. We wanted to be with our friends and family, and nothing was keeping us away from that cocktail hour.
No one expected us to show up, so we actually made it to the bottom of the stairs before anyone noticed us.
