Puffed Up with Love: We Rehearse and We Eat

In Hollywood, every wedding seems to be preceded by a wedding rehearsal, so I?d assumed it was a mandatory part of the nuptials. But now I have to ask myself…why"
Our entire rehearsal took all of 15 minutes. It was so exciting to see our family and friends at the Mansion at Valley Country Club, where we?d be married a mere 24 hours later. But in retrospect, I think we could have saved everyone a trip and just provided a few instructions in an email, or practiced the day of the wedding. Pretty much all our wedding party needed to know was the order in which they?d enter, stand in, and exit. Beyond that, it was sort of a waste of time…
…with one exception: the surprise I?d planned for Mr. Puffer. In the first photo I ever saw of Puff, he was wearing a ridiculous wig that I later learned fit his fun-loving, goofy personality to a tee. The wig was long gone, but family and friends still share the story of how I agreed to date a weird guy from Maryland in pink purple pigtails.
Unbeknownst to Puffer, I found an identical wig online. So at the rehearsal, as we practiced the procession, I secretly took the wig from my purse and stuck it on my head right before my parents escorted me down the aisle.
Puff?s jaw dropped when he saw me. It was picture-worthy…only we were all laughing and forgot to take a picture. It made the rehearsal worth it.
Otherwise, if your schedule is packed, I?d recommend seeing if you can skip the rehearsal. Just my two cents.
