Puffed Up with Love: We Take a Breath

A remarkable thing came over me the day of our wedding: I became remarkably calm.
Sitting back, calmly observing the goings-on
Despite my desire to have a small, private wedding, the anticipation of marrying Mr. Puffer and the unimaginable love given to me by him and my friends and family brought me a sense of peace I never expected. I definitely felt none of the stress I experienced earlier that week, when Puff and I were so busy and nervous, we called in our acupuncturist friend to give us each a session. (I highly recommend it.)
My calmness reached a peak in those final moments before the ceremony began. Despite a couple minor meltdowns by the kids in the wedding, and despite the herd of people coming in and out of the wedding suite, and despite the growing murmur of guests milling below us, I was totally at peace?a minor miracle for an introvert like me. But that night, and every day since, I felt 100% certain that Mr. Puffer was one of the best things to ever happen to me, and marrying him was just the icing on the cake. Oh, and hey, I was able to make a final trip to the bathroom by myself. Thanks, Mrs. Cola!
