Puff and I lived together before getting married, but it was important for us to spend the night before the wedding apart. We decided that there would be no contact with one another, except for emergencies, until our first look.
But in following tradition, we exchanged gifts with one another that day. I loved it, but in retrospect, part of me wishes we?d done it the night before, after the rehearsal dinner, so we could share in the experience. (We love giving each other gifts, and frankly, my eye makeup was nearly ruined when I teared up from reading Mr. Puffer?s card.)

Trying hard not to cry Knowing I adore vintage jewelry, he gave me the most beautiful moon-shaped antique brooch. It?s stunning, and I didn?t own any brooches, so since the wedding I?ve been enjoying finding new ways of wearing it. For the wedding, we pinned it to my bouquet.

To Puffer, I gave him precisely what he?d asked me for: a new pocket watch. The one I?d given him prior was cheaply made and broke within a few months. This one is built to last.

I also gave him a pin to wear inside his jacket with photos of his grandparents?a memento from his family to keep close to his heart.
