Real Bride Blogger Susanne: Finding the Dress
Hi belles, this is Susanne, and after sharing my engagement story and giving a few tips for the ?groom-to-be?, I am back with adventure number two – finding my wedding dress.
I had been looking forward to this special occasion for a long time. My vision of how I wanted to look like as a bride had become clearer and clearer, the more weddings I accompanied as a photographer. After the engagement, I made appointments at the bridal stores of my choice right away. My sister, mother, and girlfriend were supposed to be part of the process and help me decide which dress is ?the one?, while sipping champagne.
We were at various bridal shops and the service was always excellent and friendly. Fortunately, we only had one negative experience (I will not share the name of the store here) in a bridal shop that was the exclusive store for a label I wanted to try. In the other stores even my girlfriends were allowed to try on dresses while I chatted with the assistants. We had an amazing time. It became obvious pretty fast which dress was for the civil wedding and which dress I was going to wear during the church ceremony. I just knew: This is my dress!
My advice for the bridal dress search:
1. Research
Start your search by browsing Pinterest, wedding blogs and bridal magazines to narrow down a general style that you like. You can use that research to give the bridal shop input and try on the dress you like.
2. Keep an open mind
Do not fall for only one dress during your resear...
