The Story
We chose the Winter Solstice for our wedding date because we love the Solstice and the opportunities for new beginnings as the sun begins its return to the sky. We wanted to bring some light to the darkest night of the year.
We chose to incorporate a hand fasting into our ceremony because we liked the concept of actually “tying the knot” and as a nod to Ryan’s Celtic heritage. We had fires burning on either side of us during our ceremony to celebrate bringing the light back to the sky on the night of the Solstice. And we incorporated the Blessings of the Four Directions into our ceremony as well because of what a big role Nature ...
