Scouting Our Ceremony Site

When I say Seattle, you probably think Pike Place Market, delicious seafood, Starbucks, the Space Needle, ferries, a certain popular ABC medical drama, and, of course, rain. Lots and lots of rain.
Before we moved here, I was told that the weather in Seattle was more damp than rainy, a bit like walking through a lingering cloud that moves in around October and doesn?t fade until April. For reasons unknown, this winter has been an especially wet and miserable one.

So when Mr. Feather and I woke up one Saturday morning in late February and discovered that the sky was blue (!!!!), we jumped at the chance to scope out Volunteer Park and try to figure out where we wanted to put our ceremony.
We started off with a few considerations:
Shady, so our guests don?t fry and our photographer can do her best work
Nice background
Far enough away from major roads
Courteous distance from walking paths/attractions to avoid bothering park visitors
We parked in front of the Asian Art Museum and slowly worked our way around the park. I positioned Mr. Feather where I thought we might want to stand and snapped each photo from where the audience would be sitting. Our permit gives us the entire 48-acre park for the day, so there were a lot more options than the few I?m sharing here.
