If you had asked me six months ago whether I was a ?DIY bride,? I probably would have said no, not really. However, considering the work we put into our invitations, table numbers, and favors, I guess I am, sort of! It?s always been a pleasure, though. There is something so rewarding about being proud of a finished project; it?s cool to be able to say, ?Yep! I made that!?
Enter our centerpieces. From the beginning, I thought I might do something myself, because a) it?s a winter wedding and b) I didn?t really care about flowers, especially after I looked at the average cost of a wedding florist. Therefore, I figured I would make my own bouquet, order boutonnieres (it?s like prom all over again!), and do “something cool” with candles for the tables. Considering the warm, festive, holiday feeling we were aiming for, it seemed like a great idea. Now we?re a couple of weeks out, and let me be very clear—I am so excited to see our centerpieces in action, and I think they are really going to convey the aesthetic we wanted?but Oh. My. God. This was a BEAST. It just…kept growing. Like a hydra when you cut off its head: 10 more ideas sprouted up and demanded to be executed.
