Tales of a Four-Eyed Bride: An Update!
In my last four-eyed bride post I was deciding whether I should wear my glasses or suffer with contacts on our wedding day. I received amazing words of encouragement, advice, and suggestions from the Weddingbee community. I decided to re-visit contact lenses with a highly recommended optometrist.

At my appointment she examined my eyes and confirmed that my eyes are extremely dry, especially for a person my age. Unfortunately, this means that I will probably always have issues with contacts. Fortunately, she informed me they are making progress with contacts every day, and even though I couldn’t wear contacts a few years ago, there were new and improved options.

In addition, since I have astigmatism I need a slightly thicker and often more uncomfortable lens. My astigmatism isn’t too severe, so we discussed trying a non-astigmatism-correcting lens that wouldn’t cause as much irritation. The eyesight benefit of astigmatism correction didn’t outweigh the cost of eye irritation, so it was an easy decision for me to make. This worked in my situation since my astigmatism isn’t too severe, but it may not be an option for everyone.
