The Bride Diaries. Louise Is Making Her Bridesmaid Dresses

Oh I do love a spot of craftiness and DIY, which why I am thrilled that Louise and her mum are going to make the bridesmaid dresses themselves. Not an easy task but I am certain it will be an enjoyable and special process, I cannot wait to see them already xo Lou
After getting a couple of sizeable tasks out of the way last month, our thoughts turned to bridesmaids? dresses and décor.
Originally my mum and I had discussed the possibility of her making my wedding dress, but after careful consideration of all the factors, including the time of year and location of the wedding, we decided against it. We really wanted her to utilise her talents though, so we decided together that she would be tasked with making the five bridesmaids? dresses!
Inspired by the season, but not wanting to be too festive, we?ve opted for Teal bridesmaid dresses in this stunning Rio Crepe from ?Sew Over It?. In the beginning we had considered fabrics and patterns that would lend themselves to a far more structured silhouette. However, upon purchasing my wedding dress I found that a softer, more vintage inspired bridesmaid dress would probably complement the overall look far better. As a result, we?ve gone for this 1940s Tea Dress pattern, once again from ?Sew Over It?. I really think it?s a great style that will suit and flatter all my girls – I can?t wait to see them all sewn up! I may have to make one for myself…
