Age Difference in Relationships
I’m just gonna come out and talk about it…when it comes to Mr. Wishbone and me, there’s a bit of an age difference. Over 15 years, in fact. And I get lots of questions about it…from friends, from family, even from perfect strangers. Early on, it felt like I was spending as much time defending our relationship as enjoying it.
It seems that people assume one of three things:
1. He’s the sugar daddy: Nope. We both have good jobs, both contribute to household expenses, vacations, and the like.

2. I’ve got daddy issues: Again, not at all. My dad and I are super close, actually, and he likes Mr. Wishbone too, age difference and all.
3. I’m settling: Nope, I actually genuinely like this guy. I wouldn’t be marrying him otherwise. But the more I defended our relationship, the more I realized—I LOVE our relationship, age difference and all. It works for us, and that’s what matters. We’re good partners. We spend most of our time together laughing, we talk things over instead of fighting, we travel well together, live well together, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company.  And isn’t that the most important part"
