Wedding Invitation Tips and Tricks for Working with a Stationer
We have a wonderful community here, bees, filled with countless amazing DIY tutorials, especially for invitations. Like Mrs. Tractor’s, Mrs. Clownfish’s, Mrs. Goat’s, plus many more!
However, the the Dreamcatchers went a different direction and bought our invites through a brick and mortar stationery store. Do I think it was worth it" Absolutely not.

Admittedly, my views are skewed because the particular stationer we worked with was difficult to work with. Maybe if we’d had an amazing experience I would feel differently, but even still what we paid for versus what we received seems incredibly off. Let me also say, paper was never something I was interested in dropping tons of money on. I can certainly appreciate the feel and craftsmanship of amazing letterpress but knew I?d rather use that money somewhere else. With that in mind, here are my tips for working with a stationer.
Consider the quality. The paper our invitations are printed on is good quality. Not astounding, but good. Honestly, I chose the absolute cheapest option the store offered to keep costs as low as possible. I would place it as *maybe* slightly nicer than the cheapest option at Minted or Wedding Paper Divas. Problem was…a comparable invite on one of those websites" HALF what what we paid. So through a stationer we got *maybe* a tad bit nicer paper for double the cost. Also, the envelopes...
