Hi y’all! I’ve been down the DIY rabbit hole the past couple of days (our invitations must go out this weekend! EEP!!), but before we talk about that, I?d like to discuss something (else) that gave me great anxiety: photography.
I felt pretty overwhelmed when we set out to look for a photographer. We didn’t want to skimp here because, after the day is over, the photographs are obviously some of the few physical pieces that remain?but we also knew the expense could very easily get out of hand, and we wanted to try not to set fire to our budget just yet.
Additionally, I was concerned because a) I am an awkward person and knew I would feel silly in front of the camera and b) I am pretty un-photogenic. That?s not fishing for compliments—it?s just something you learn after 33 years of consistently terrible photos.
Anyway, I knew I would eventually have to figure it out, so I took the plunge one day and started cruising online reviews for photographers in our area. I looked at some of the “big studio” type of photographers, but they all felt cold and corporate to me. Then Robert Gigliotti came up on the screen. I clicked through some of his sample photos and felt some of my anxiety recede. He seemed to be in our price range, and his photos were beautiful.
