You’ve probably heard the rule of thumb that an engagement ring should cost the equivalent of three months’ salary. We’re here to tell you that no longer applies. This “rule” was created as a marketing ploy during WWII to get couples to spend more money. For most couples, this is an unrealistic amount of money to spend.
