The Three S?s: How We Created Our Engagement Look
Since we decided to go from zero to 100 and get married only seven months after getting engaged, I?ve been planning our engagement photo shoot alongside the wedding. I thought it would be a lot of added stress, but it?s actually shaping up to be an incredible day in the woods with Mr. Feather and our photographer.

There?s a lot of advice out there on what to wear for your engagement photos, ranging from the obvious (be yourself!) to the nitty gritty (wear comfortable shoes). After doing a bit of light research, I broke all this advice down into three categories, which I?ve dubbed “The Three S?s of Engagement Photo Fashion.”
Setting
Where you plan on taking your photos should have some influence on what you decide to wear. This means thinking about things like clothing color: If you?re going to the beach, a lighter color will blend more with the sand, while a darker color will stand out. And a color like red will stand out more in a green/brown forest than, say, emerald green.

Otherwise, setting can have as much or as little influence on your outfits as you want. Folks typically seem to go for more casual outfits in more casual settings (a sundress instead of a ball gown for a park session), but I?ve seen equally beautiful photos where the couple was all decked out in a place I?d never expect (like the gum wall in Post Alley.)
