The Venue Menu

In the essence of full upfront disclosure, this has nothing to do with the food served at our venue and everything to do with our search for the perfect venue for our wedding. Get it" It?s our ?menu? of venue options. (OK, OK, I only used that title because it rhymes.)
After Mr. Eel and I were engaged, the first thing we talked about was our priorities for the wedding. I let Mr. Eel go first, and he had three priorities: 1. food, 2. open bar, 3. groom?s attire. Translating ?guy speak? for his priorities for the wedding meant that these were the three things he wanted a say in—everything else he would leave up to me. Woohoo! I knew I chose the right guy!
It was harder for me to nail down my priorities, but I knew for sure I wanted open bar and, ultimately, for our guests to have a good time. (So that you don?t think Mr. Eel is completely heartless, he too agreed that was a priority for him.) When we compared notes it appeared that open bar was our top priority. -_- Just kidding…kinda…not really…but for real, though.

Let me explain. Mr. Eel and I enjoy drinking socially, and our families and friends enjoy it as well. Parties, BBQs, weddings, and other get-togethers usually include alcohol, so we knew from the start a dry wedding was definitely out.
