The Venue Menu: The Ones We Didn’t See

In the great venue search of 2015, we researched a number of venues that didn’t make it to the final round of site visits. Since Mr. Eel and I both work Monday through Friday, we could only do site visits on weekends, which made it difficult to coordinate and also forced us to be a little more discerning regarding the venues we actually chose to visit. Here are the venues I researched but didn’t make the cut.
Loulu Palm Estates
Loulu Palm Estate, located on the North Shore of Oahu, is a 1947 plantation style home with a large lawn and direct access to the beach. This venue was along the lines of what I was looking for, but the venue fee for a Saturday night wedding for 200 guests was $4,550. This did not include any of the additional rentals such as tents, tables, chairs, etc. Also, once you get to the 200 guest count, there were extra fees for trash service, dumpsters, and parking. If the cost wasn’t so high, we definitely would have considered Loulu Palm as a front-runner. The site (from what I could tell in pictures) was absolutely beautiful.
The one minor thing I didn’t like about this venue was that our guests would need to walk through the reception area to get to the beachfront ceremony area of the property. I preferred a more grand presentment of the reception tent after our ceremony and cocktail hour; this venue did not allow for that.
