The Wedding Kissing Menu

What is a kissing menu"
At a wedding, a kissing menu is a game of sorts. Traditionally, guests clink their glasses to encourage the newlywed couple to kiss, but if a kissing menu is provided, guests have to go one step further and complete one of the tasks on the menu that the bride and groom have decided on.

The kissing menu can feature all kinds of tasks, from sappy (e.g. “Give us your best advice for a long and happy marriage”) to silly (“Tell us a joke…if it makes us laugh, we’ll kiss!”) and anything in between. If guests complete a task successfully, the couple will kiss.

My husband put together a great list of toast alternatives. Instead of simply kissing when a bell was rung or a glass was clinked, we put our guests to work. Jeremy created a mini menu that listed some fun kissing alternatives. Guests could either serenade us with a song (the “Singapore Sing”), demonstrate a kiss for the bride and groom to copy (the “Carolina Kiss”), recite a limerick about love (the “Irish Blessing”) or share some time-honored marriage advice (the “French Toast”).
