The Wild, Wild World of Wedding Photography
Wedding photography amazes me.
Take two ordinary people, dress them a little nicer than usual, and add a bit more makeup than normal. Pose them in any setting. Suddenly, like magic, they?re two damn good looking people. Maybe not model level, but a solid six or seven out of 10.
Mr. Feather and I started our search for a photographer knowing that neither one of us is very photogenic. I can look decent if someone is telling me how to pose, but all bets are off if the photographer is snapping candids. I?ll be the first to jump into a posed photo and the first to dodge a camera being pointed at me without warning.

For us, and probably almost every couple, the most important skill our photographer should possess is the ability to pose us naturally and help us look like the best versions of ourselves. I have no illusions that I?m suddenly going to morph into someone with model good looks on my wedding day, and I wouldn?t want that anyway.
We?d also love to have beautiful candids of our guests, most of whom have never met and probably won?t cross paths again. And we?d like someone who can take vibrant color photos even indoors in weird, mixed lighting like at Stimson-Green. Again, we?re not expecting miracles light-wise, but a photographer with lighting gear who knows how to use it would get our...
