We asked one of our very good friends to officiate our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. Having known us individually and as a couple, he was able to tell stories unique to us and we felt he was the perfect person to join us and our families together in a way that was both touching and entertaining.
The most important thing to us was to make sure we kept the day fun. There’s no blueprint with wedding planning so we really leaned into that and tried to make it authentically us; eliminating unnecessary throwback customs that didn’t apply. There will always be some level of stress involved with wedding planning but we wanted to cut the unnecessary fat and keep things stress free and light where we could.
