This Olowalu Plantation House Wedding Marries Hawaiian Tradition and New England Charm

It doesn’t get much more tropically charming than this Hawaii-meets-New England wedding! Kelley honored her New England roots by including nautical details like sea glass and classic accents, and Ekahi let his Hawaiian origins speak for themselves at Olowalu Plantation House. I went simple and let my dress speak for itself. I couldn’t decide on a form-fitting or full-skirt so I decided to have both – I wore a tight dress underneath and then had a tulle skirt I wore over the dress for the ceremony. It was awesome. I wore simple jewelry – pearly earrings and a bracelet because I didn’t want to take away from my dress.
My husband is from Hawaii so he embodies the Island style and my family is from New England so my style is more nautical/beachy, so we aimed to blend the two. Pulling in all the amazing flowers, fruits, and foods Hawaii has to offer, while bringing in the preppy nautical East Coast style, we found the perfect representation of us.
We wanted everyone to have a wonderful time and to truly enjoy themselves — nothing too up tight, no strict agendas, just really great food, people, music and tons of love.
