This Two-Day Hindu Wedding in Essex Beautifully Combines Tradition with Vintage Vibes
Valine and Amar’s two-day wedding in Essex combined Hindu traditions with vintage styling and a whole lot of personality. Though the Hindu ceremony was purely based in tradition, the couple opted for a serene shade of teal for their wedding clothes, rather than the custom red. Valine and Amar’s shared love of travel inspired the Japanese-influenced reception decor, including colorful paper lanterns, origami birds, and a cake adorned with cherry blossoms. Bridgwood Wedding Photography brilliantly captured the happy couple as they enjoyed their party of a lifetime, dancing the night away to our favorite Alicia Keys tune.

For the Hindu ceremony, I did not want to go for the traditional red colour, as this would of been too overpowering. When I saw the mint and silver Lengha, I instantly fell in love with it, as it was not over the top, which can be the case with some Indian wedding garments, and it had a real soothing feel to it.
For the civil ceremony, I wanted to go for a 1930s vintage look to complement my elegant wedding dress which was accessorised with a pearl and subtle diamante band and a french lace 3/4 length veil.
My husband proposed in Japan hence the Japanese themed wedding including decor and food . For the Hindu ceremony it was influenced by bright Indian decor, clothing and food.
