I am a cardiac registered nurse, and I was working on my unit during the start of the COVID pandemic when the world changed in front of my eyes. I work at a hospital in New York, so within days of the world shutting down, my unit was transitioned into a COVID intensive care unit where we fostered the sickest COVID patients who were fighting for their lives. It was then when I made the drastic decision to move out of my parents? home and find someplace to live during the pandemic so I can protect my family from this sickness that I saw take so many lives from.
