A mutual friend was in town, and so over cheerwine and brownies in Emily?s sister?s kitchen, sparks began to fly. Emily, an illustrator and owner of Emily Brooks Designs, accepted Patrick?s request for a tour of Raleigh after he had seen a recent map she had drawn for a local magazine.
