We Need a Theme" We Need a Theme.

When Mr. Horsehoe and I started planning, we kind of thought ?wedding? would be the theme of our, well, wedding. Oh, silly Horseshoes. IÂ knew we needed to nail something down as I stared, wide-eyed and slightly bewildered, at my friend as she strongly recommended that we have a 1920s flapper/Great Gatsby themed wedding to go with our historical park venue.

As a Gatsby theme wasn?t our cup of tea, I pored over real weddings and styled photo shoots to try and figure out what theme would work for us. It was hard to pinpoint a theme that we liked. Rustic or country would have been an obvious choice, but we weren?t personally keen on all of the elements you?d find in these weddings. In other words, we didn?t want to work against our venue?but we didn?t want to go for the obvious.
So we sat down and started identifying design and decor elements that we liked no matter what ?theme? they belonged to (rustic, vintage, etc.).
My fiancé and I love the outdoors. Gardens. Warm details with some modern flair.

I loved the way long, flowing ribbons and stylishly ?overgrown? centrepieces photographed.

I decided that I wanted gold...
