What?s in a Venue"

I?m currently running kilometre 35 of our wedding marathon, so little things are setting me off due to fatigue/stress. ?Why did I make this decision" Why did I do this"? I?m happy to say that one thing I?ve never looked back on is our wedding venue.
Here?s how we picked our wedding venue.
1. Search for wedding venues in our desired area.
2. Check a couple out, but feel pretty ?meh? about them.
3. Think of where our friends got married and what we liked about those venues, and wonder if it?s OK for us to use the same venue that they did.
4. Realise that it?s not a big deal to use the same venue as someone else, and go with it.
Mr. Horseshoe and I knew we wanted a venue with some character to it. Finding a venue with interesting architectural details and decor was high on our list. Our first stop was the Lougheed House, a fairly popular wedding venue in Calgary.

Lougheed House is a national historical site that was built in 1891. It?s a beautiful venue with a great, central location. The menu looked wonderful, and the atmosphere was just as great. Our hesitation with this venue was that parties of 80–90 guests have to be split between rooms for dinner, and we wanted everyone to be in the same room. The other challenge was that events can only begin at around 6:00 PM due to regular operating hours, and we felt like that would limit our ceremony and reception.
