Rachel and David wanted their Seattle wedding to be as heartfelt and personal as possible, so they threw a backyard bash in their family’s garden! With the help of Gather Events, the couple transformed their family home into a lovely summer soiree featuring live jazz, a vintage-inspired cocktail bar, and stunning DIY accents. We really aimed to plan a party that we would want to attend. We kept some traditional wedding aspects, but weren?t afraid to do away with the ones that were less important to us.
The majority of our guests were from out-of-town and we felt we couldn?t have chosen a more personal or special venue to welcome our friends and family than my family home in Seattle. Getting married in a space that is not set up as a ?venue? did create some challenges, but it was totally worth it for us to be able to celebrate our marriage in such a meaningful place. We utilized every square inch of the house and garden!
