Our Living Room Renovation – 1930s Semi Detached Art Deco House
It’s been a fair while since I did any interiors blogging, but that’s all about to change as I really want to bring back one of my passions to WWW. We moved into our 1930s art deco semi detached house back in October 2016, I can’t believe we’ve lived here now for 3 years! So first up I am going to share our 1930s living room renovation.
The first space in the house we decided to renovate was the living room, mainly as it’s one of the rooms we use the most and one in which we would be welcoming most visitors into. My dad is in the building trade and always gave me the advice, start from the top and work your way down when renovating a property, so once we cracked the living room we swiftly headed upstairs to our next project. Our house has been extended a fair bit in the past, with a side extension, loft conversion and back extension along with lean to conservatory. We have five bedrooms and a loft office for me, so we are lucky to have a fair amount of space to play with, however it’s certainly been an epic project to renovate the rooms and keep to a strict budget too. Anyway I digress, let’s get back to our living room. The living room was originally a separate living/dining room and has been knocked though at some point, with one of the door ways moved also.
