1. She Was a Little Scared at First
Scott was the first man I had ever introduced to my parents. All throughout high school I never really dated, and anyone after that was short lived and not worth mentioning. When Scott and I met something just clicked, and it TERRIFIED me. I tried to play it cool for a couple weeks as he constantly texted me, asked me out, and just never. gave. up. I figured if he was that determined I should at least give him a chance. Well, I?m sure glad I did. I remember one night we were lying in bed just talking, and he opened up to me about so many things I knew he had never said to anyone else before. He told me about a close friend he had lost unexpectedly, the passing of his grandmother only a few months before he met me, his ongoing struggle with his mental health. I cried as I listened because I had never felt that level of trust or comfort with anyone before, and I could tell he felt the same. That?s when I knew.
