The Bride Diaries. Rebecca’s Wedding Flowers
Hello everyone!
I hope that you have been enjoying the recent British summer. As I write it?s the summer solstice and I have been watching the sun go down over the rooftop in our garden, and it?s still going strong at 9.30pm! With all this glorious weather we have turned our attention to blooms, bouquets and all things floral.
Cue Nick?s wonderful step mum Dawn or ?D-pops? as Nick affectionately calls her (I?m sure she will love me for that!). Dawn is a true horticulturist, always pottering around her greenhouse and garden, or if she?s not there she?ll be at her allotment. The whole family looks forward to receiving the fruits of her labour by way of fresh fruit and veg, or lovely seasonal blooms.

The Florals
Our garden at home is filled with bee and butterfly friendly plants, in fact they don?t even get considered unless they have the little bee friendly badge on the label. As such, a lot of our initial ideas have focussed on something similar, quite rustic and full of wildflowers. We absolutely want the flowers to be in season as it would just be crazy to have imported flowers when we are getting married in one of the most colourful and fruitful of flowering months here in East Anglia.
For the bouquets we have decided to go for a traditional English country garden feel, a soft pink colour pallet with lashings of green foliage such as eucalyptus and ivy and the centrepiece will be the dramatically elegant peony. A true English gem.
